Sol Campbell has a burning desire to remain at Arsenal and bring trophies to the Gunners fans after five years without success.
The veteran centre-back was signed on a short-term contract in January and is now hoping his performances have done enough to persuade Arsene Wenger to offer him a new deal.
Campbell told the club's website that he wants to remain in North London for "another year" - but he thinks he could play Premier League football for even longer than that.
"Give me one year and I'll work every day and try to win a trophy and bring some kind of glory back to Arsenal," the 35-year-old said.
"Deep inside I feel I've got two real gritty years left in me, the years in which I can affect things."
Campbell's veteran defensive partner William Gallas is also out of contract this summer and could be set to leave the Emirates and defensive worries could seriously dent Arsenal's Premier League odds next season.
The French defender has been hoping to earn a new two-year contract with the Gunners but chairman Peter Hill-Wood has described his wage demands as "extravagant" and the club are unlikely to bow to his demands.
Gallas is currently looking to prove his fitness for France, with Les Blues currently outsiders in the FIFA World Cup betting.
With the Gunners possibly lacking in defensive options for next season, Wenger wants to add more options in that area during the summer and has made it a transfer window priority.
