Aaron Ramsey will become an even stronger footballer after his injury ordeal and could be a major figure to help Arsenal win the Premier League title in coming seasons.
That is the opinion of former Cardiff City team-mate Chris Gunter, who is away with the Welsh squad preparing for their clash with Croatia without influential midfielder Ramsey.
The 19-year-old suffered a horrific injury during Arsenal's game with Stoke City in February after a shocking tackle by Ryan Shawcross.
That injury put Ramsey out of Arsenal's Premier League title race, and the club's injury crisis throughout the season was one reason they ultimately came up short and finished third.
Gunter has said he saw Ramsey last week and the midfielder is doing "really well" as he prepares on the long road to recovery.
The Nottingham Forest defender added: "He is hoping to start running in a few weeks, then there will be three or four more weeks before he can kick a ball.
"It was a terrible thing to go through, but one I am sure that in years to come he will look back and say it made him stronger."
Fellow Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is also struggling with a leg injury, but claims he will be fully-fit to play for Spain in the World Cup this summer.
Currently, the 2010 World Cup betting makes the side favourites for the tournament and it is likely they would be able to cope without the Arsenal man if they had to.
However, further injuries could seriously dent their chances.
